Sunset in Maidstone – Photos

The afternoon started off quite nice and I decided to venture over to Rochester Castle as some friends of mine were interested in some prints of the castle. However as soon as I arrived the last of the sun disappeared behind the clouds and rain started spitting down. To top it all off too it was The Dickens Festival this weekend and there were preparations going on all around the castle. Putting up stages and tents and even a funfair in the castle grounds. Not the ideal backdrop or foreground even for a castle shot.

So after a quick stroll around and firing off a few shots I decided to head back home. Driving towards Maidstone and coming down Blue Bell Hill I noticed the sky clearing off over the Weald and the sun’s bright orange orb disappearing over the horizon towards Tunbridge Wells. I stopped off at Blue Bell Hill Country Park and spent 45 minutes snapping away.
